The University of Kansas City and University of Missouri-Kansas City Yearbooks collection consists of each yearbook from 1936-1967, 1976-1978, 1982-1985, and 1990. From 1936 to 1938, the yearbook published under the title “Kangaroo and Crataegus,” with the “Kangaroo” being a student published humor magazine and the “Crataegus” being the yearbook. From 1939 to 1967, the yearbook merged with the humor magazine to become “Kangaroo,” “The Kangaroo,” or “UKC Kangaroo.” Efforts to restart the yearbook in the 1970s resulted in yearbooks called “Senior Record,” “The Marsupial,” and “Graduate Record.” Efforts to again restart the yearbook in the 1980s resulted in yearbooks called “New Student Record,” “The Kangaroo,” or “Kangaroo.” A single yearbook in 1990 is called “Who’s New On Campus.”

This record group (series) is divided into two series: materials that are stored onsite at Miller Nichols Library, and materials that are stored offsite at the University of Missouri System’s Records Management Center in Columbia, Missouri.
