This series contains directories listing faculty, staff, and/or students with their contact information. The University of Kansas City began publishing directories in 1937. The University of Missouri—Kansas City ended the practice of publishing physical directories in 2002 when the university moved to providing the information in an online searchable database.

Many issues include a listed individual’s phone number and local and/or home address. Some issues also include faculty members’ marital status, office hours, and an index of services. Directories published between the 1940-1941 and 1948-1949 academic years were published under the Bulletin header. Some directories may include supplemental information such as corrections and additions.

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), directory information is student data within student records that would not generally be considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if disclosed. Directory information may include name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, dates of attendance, full- or part-time status, major field of study, degrees and awards received, most recent prior school attended, and participation in sports and activities. Published directories such as the ones in this series are not considered student records.
