American Association of University Women – Kansas City (AAUW-KC) Collection
Scope and Contents
The American Association of University Women – Kansas City (AAUW-KC) Collection dates from 1909-1985 and consists of 12 scrapbooks and 11 photographs. The scrapbooks are a gathering of all things AAUW-KC. Included are news clippings, numerous leaflets, newsletters, bulletins and additional photographs. Within the leaves of these gems are chronicled years of civic and social events and significant achievements garnered by the AAUW-KC. They provide insight into the pulse of the organization and exhibit their dedication toward the betterment of our community and beyond.
Of particular interest are the postwar years when it was so crucial for all to strive for our ultimate freedom. The AAUW-KC rallied and brought together a plan to assist the needs of those families left in the aftermath. Researchers in a number of fields of study would find the AAUW-KC Collection to be a wealth of information. The scrapbooks highlight notable events and milestones in Kansas City, the United States and even the world, spanning three quarters of a century.
