This collection consists of audio recordings of KANU radio broadcasts as well as other nationally broadcast recordings. Some notable broadcasts include Hubert Humphrey in Kansas City, coverage of events held at UMKC, and interviews with Frank Lloyd Wright, Gertrude Stein, Ed Dorn, Adela Rogers St. Johns, Louise Nevelson, Mary Churchill, Bernard Lovell, and Mary McCarthy.
Marr Sound Archives Audiovisual Collection
This collection consists of many recordings that were accumulated since the founding of the Marr Sound Archives but the provenance and/or donors are unknown. There is limited information about the recordings in this collection. Much of the collection are lacquer discs of various music performances and home recordings. The collection also holds various test pressings, open reel tapes, cassettes, CD-Rs, and films.

The collection also consists of jazz festival recordings, including the Mid-America Jazz Festival, Wichita Jazz Festival, Jazz Olympics, and the Kansas City Women's Jazz Festival.

The collection is made up of oral history recordings from UMKC history professor, Rebecca Davis', 5585 graduate history class. The majority of the oral histories were conducted by Davis' students in the Fall of 2016 and 2019. The recordings are of individuals who were activists and much of the content in the recordings relates to their activism. Activists topics include civil rights, LGBTQ, Native Americans, Latinx, Jews, labor, and health care.
