The Priscilla Bowman Collection was gifted to LaBudde Special Collections in May 2012 by her daughter, Marcia Bowman Hunt. Additional material was gifted by Bowman Hunt in October 2012. The collection, broken down into four series, consists of material related to the Kansas City-born jazz and rhythm-and-blues singer. The first series, Print Music, contains manuscript and published sheet music, a songbook, lyrics sheets, and notebooks compiled by Bowman. The Publicity series houses event programs and flyers, certificates and awards, news clippings and publications related to Bowman’s life and career. The Miscellaneous series comprises professional and personal items, including two business contracts from the 1950s. The Photograph series includes publicity, performance and personal photos of Bowman, music colleagues, and family in Kansas City and elsewhere spanning the 1940s to the 1980s.
