Brush Creek Feasibility Study, May 2, 2010

 Item — Object: 68

Scope and Contents

Brian Rast, P.E. and John Grothaus from the Kansas City District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers joined the show to talk about the future of Brush Creek. One of the advantages of federal involvement is that both Kansas and Missouri entities are part of the discussions. The drainage area for Brush Creek is nearly divided evenly between the two states. The Corps is exploring options for restoring some aspects of its ecosystem, so Deb asked how that would interface with the constructed flood control channel, specifically the drop structures and dams.
