Scope and Contents

Program host, Deborah O’Bannon, was a Professor (check emeritus status) of Civil Engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The readio program explores how and why structures are built with Kansas City-area policymakers, experts and community members. The proram was titled "Water Water Everywhere" from January 2009 to July 2010. The name of program changed to Building Kansas City in August, 2010. The program ended in September, 2011. Deborah O’Bannon has taught civil engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) since 1989. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from MIT, a Master of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College in New York and a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a Fellow of the Society of Women Engineers.
