Scope and Contents

Series contains approximately 600 prints, mostly engravings, although other printmaking formats are represented including etchings, lithographs and photogravures. Subject matter includes: Arabian Nights, Egyptian, English Castles, Napoleonic, Portraits, Religious, Romantic Orientalism, Women’s Fashion, and Miscellaneous. Material dates from 1779 to 1904 and, for the most part, is organized alphabetically within each subject.

Of particular note are photogravures produced by Open Court Publishing in Chicago, prints from original artworks published by Gebbie & Co. and a Walt Whitman Linton Woodcut with Proof Page from 1876.
