 File — Box: 8

Scope and Contents

contains several newspaper clippings collected from the first quarter of the 20th century. Several articles refer to the exploits, both personal and business, of C. C. Calvert (City Clerk for Goodland Kansas 1906 - ?). Several articles have fallen free from the book. These articles have been placed in acid free inserts, which have then been placed between the pages that the articles were originally adhered to. A large number of articles were collected from three separate Oklahoma newspapers: The Tulsa World, The Daily Oklahoman (Oklahoma City) and The Okmulgee Daily Times. These article were all published between 1925 and 1928. They have been filed together and placed in chronological order. In addition to the newspaper editorials, the scrapbook contains several poems and pieces of expository writings. Some of these have been collected from unidentified periodicals, while several others appear in type set. The scrap book also contains several postcards to and from Calvert, two correspondences between Calvert and his wife Maude, a shopping list, a single photograph - #358, a ticket to the 1908 democratic national convention, and a proclamation from the senior class of Norton County High School (1904).
