Biography
In 1895, lawyers William P. Borland, Edward D. Ellison, and Elmer N. Powell founded the Kansas City School of Law with active assistance from leading members of the bench and bar in the city. Borland served as the first dean of the school, and was elected to United States Congress in 1910. Ellison succeeded Borland and served as dean until the School of Law merged with the University of Kansas City in 1938.
