Scope and Contents

This material was donated by Theodore Herman, a friend of Edgar Snow's, and removed from the Mary Clark Dimond Papers in July 1985.

This material consists of correspondence between Theodore Herman, a professor at Colgate University, and Edgar Snow, regarding a possible lecture by Snow at Colgate. The correspondence includes discussion of Snow's documentary film "One Fourth of Humanity: The China Story," and of the student unrest at Colgate. The papers also contain photographs of rural China taken in the late 1930s.
