General Correspondence, 1964 September
Scope and Contents
General correspondence is arranged chronologically, although Dimond's filing systems varied by the institutions for which he worked. He used a numerical system at KU and Scripps, with each subject or person receiving a separate number. At UMKC a dual system of "Chronological" and "Friday" files was used, whereby duplicates of correspondence were placed in each division. When business was resolved on an item of correspondence, the copy in the Friday file was to be discarded. In practice, however, the Friday files duplicated the chronological files, and only one set has been retained in this collection.
