Dr. Vincent T. Williams Collection
Scope and Contents
The Dr. Vincent T. Williams Collection was donated to the University of Missouri-Kansas City by the Williams Estate. Housed in the Dr. Kenneth J. LaBudde Department of Special Collections, the collection consists of dozens of music manuscripts by Williams, as well as miscellaneous items such as correspondence, programs, news clippings and photographs. Included are signed letters to Williams from Robert Russell Bennett and Virgil Thomson, three printed piano/vocal scores of musical comedies from the 1930s, and several noteworthy manuscript scores such as Sonata for Violin and Piano, Father Abraham, Heloise et Abelarde, Sextette in C Minor, and Theme and Transmutations for Piano.
