Scope and Contents

Themes of fairs in Seattle and Spokane -- state sanctioning -- themes are "energy" and "food" -- talks about a proposed fair in KC -- federal govt has to ok and back the contributions sand set up procedures the have the different pavilions built (since they will be permanent and the faire will last between 4-6 months) -- Jack Steadman was the Head of the Chamber of Commerce for the proposed fair in KC -- projected attendance is set at 9 million -- feels KC is better fit for a worlds fair geographically -- estimated cost is around 50 million dollars -- getting pledges from businesses -- benefits of having a worlds faire is estimated $110 million and could establish the city as the agri-business center of the world -- three major competitions will make it hard for Missouri to acquire the faire
