Kansas City apartment dwellers will have more effective legal remedies available in the future. The Kansas City Council passes an ordinance Friday which gives the city authority to prohibit the rental of unfit apartments. Previously, there was no way to prosecute landlords who continued to rent properties that violated the city maintenance code.
