Scope and Contents

Contained in box 1, folders 12-39; box 2, folders 1-14; box 2a, folders 1 and 2; and oversized drawer 21. Material is broken down into five sub-series and relates to general and specific programs and content: (A) Miscellaneous, which includes KMBC broadcast listings published in the Kansas City Journal-Post, Kansas City Star, and Kansas City Times during 1929-1930; (B) Fun With Puns, which includes correspondence, promotional material and other information about the program; (C) Phenomenon, which includes several booklets that promote the program to companies for sponsorship, show bulletins (Exploitation) that relate program news, advertisements, and episode scripts; (D) Red Horse Ranch, which includes episode scripts; and (E) Texas Rangers, which includes promotional material, newspaper clippings, information related to an audition from 1947, and material related to the Texas Rangers song library, including composition listings, songbooks and record labels. Addendum 3 material consists of news clippings related to the Texas Rangers. Addendum 5 material consists of advertisements related to the KMBC program Phenomenon. Addendum 9 material consists of additional scripts for the KMBC program Life on the Red Horse Ranch as well as business correspondence and other documents related to the Texas Rangers.
