The Tim Brown collection was donated to the Dr. Kenneth J. LaBudde Department of Special Collections by Mr. Brown himself in April 2017. This collection primarily contains zines created by various artists including his students from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, as well as Mr. Brown’s own zines. Of the zines present in this collection, Mr. Brown’s The Listening Post zine contains draft and first issue materials. Miscellaneous materials such as promotional posters, oversized magazines, and newspapers are also present in this collection.

The addendum to this collection was added in August 2019. Included in the addendum are zines that Mr. Brown has acquired, as well as student zines. Also in the addendum are issues of Kiosk magazine, and various miscellaneous materials.

Addendums II – IV were added from 2021-2023 and are largely comprised of zines from Brown’s classes at the Kansas City Art Institute.
