Photos in UMKC Digital Special Collections

Series is contained in 20 photo boxes. There are over 1500 photographs in color and black-and-white formats as well as negatives, spanning Clayton’s life and career from 1928-1991. In addition to portraits of Clayton and other musicians, the photographs document musical performances, tours and venues, and Clayton’s experience as a music educator. Also included are family photos as well as images from his travels and social life. Many shots were taken by Clayton himself.
