Scope and Contents
This series is located in box 2, folders 1-16; box 3, folders 1-13; and box 4, folders 33 and 34. It is divided into ten sub-series with each sub-series relating to his individual professional appointments. The first relates to Danville, Illinois. The second relates to his career in Saginaw, Michigan. The third entails Cookingham's professional career in Kansas City and includes datebooks from 1940 until 1959, the full length of his tenure in Kansas City. The fourth includes references to City Manager of Fort Worth, Texas. The fifth is Cookingham's consultation work in Honolulu, Hawaii. The sixth includes travel itineraries for the People to People organization. The seventh includes activity recaps and summaries between 1968-1974, while Cookingham was working for Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff. The eighth relates to Kansas City, Missouri, Parks & Recreation. The ninth relates to the L.P. Cookingham Institute of Public Affairs, including the Dedication Ceremonies and the Harriette West Cookingham Scholarship. The tenth includes miscellaneous cartoon and caricatures of a personal and professional nature with inclusive dates of 1940-1987.
