Jack Ralston was the long-time music librarian at the Miller Nichols Library, as well as at Regent University. He was a noted authority on Kansas City Music and an organist. He was also known for his knowledge and passion for church music in particular. He graduated from the Conservatory of Music of Kansas City (now the UMKC Conservatory) with two music degrees in organ and performance.

Scope and Contents The Katherine K. Davis Collection was acquired through Jack L. Ralston, Director of the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City at that time. The collection highlights nearly 200 pieces of published sheet music composed by Davis.
